CPAP

Continuous Positive Airway pressure restores normal sleep by providing continuous pressure to a patient's airway through an individually fitted mask.   The increased pressure prevents the collapse of the airway, restoring normal sleep in many cases.  A CPAP set includes an airflow generator, mask, tubing, and attached humidifier.

VPAP & BIPAP

VPAP (Variable Positive Airway Pressure) & BIPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) devices, like CPAP, use patient-specific pressures to keep the airway open. BIPAP uses an inspiratory pressure and a slightly lower expiratory pressure to assist the client in exhalation. BIPAP is usually ordered by a physician for patients who require higher CPAP pressures.

BIPAP ST

BIPAP ST devices can treat patients who have symptoms of Central and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. In addition to the inspiratory and expiratory pressures, the ST model can be set to deliver a breath to the individual if the device does not sense an inspiratory effort after a set time period. After the client’s sleep study, the physician will closely review the results and see if this modality of treatment is warranted.

Auto Devices

APAP or AutoPAP or AutoCPAP (Automatic Positive Airway Pressure) automatically titrates, or tunes, the amount of pressure delivered to the patient to the minimum required to maintain an unobstructed airway on a breath-by-breath basis by measuring the resistance in the patient's breathing, thereby giving the patient the precise pressure required at a given moment and avoiding the compromise of fixed pressure.

Accessory Components

Humidifier adds moisture to the air using a heated water chamber that can increase patient comfort by eliminating the dryness of the compressed air. The temperature can usually be adjusted or turned off to act as a passive humidifier if desired. In general, a heated humidifier is either integrated into the unit or has a separate power source (i.e. plug).

Tubing Wrap Tube Wrap maintains hose temperature above room temperature by insulating the hose, which reduces the amount of condensation within the tube.

Our masks feature flexible chin straps which help the patient to avoid breathing orally, optimizing the efficiency of the closed pressure system. The straps are elastic enough that the patient can easily open his mouth if he feels that he needs to.

Service

Our on-site CPAP services will fit you with the device and accessories right for you and instruct you in their use. CPAP tubing and filters are also available. Basic compliance info or detailed event logging, are recorded when the machine is in use.   this helps our sleep specialist aid in maintenance and increases the likelihood of the patient tolerating treatment without undue discomfort.

Quarterly Maintenance:

Additionally, we provide wear and tear parts at NO COST to you. This includes provision of a new Mask, new tubing, a new hose and a new humidifier chamber for use with your CPAP machine.  Quarterly maintenance is highly advised clinically for proper function of your CPAP and apparatus.

Oxygen Therapy

When a patient's lungs can't sufficiently oxygenate blood, oxygen therapy may be optimal. Oxygen therapy is used to assure that there is enough oxygen in the blood to provide for the needs of the human body.  Oxygen is administered through a dedicated system as ongoing therapy.
